I'm Graham Fraser, a Melbourne-based sports photographer specialising in canoe slalom, team sports, Olympic-pathway and water and endurance events across Victoria. I work with national federations, sporting bodies, schools, event organisers, and individual athletes, with a focus on getting agency-quality imagery into clients' hands while the moment still matters.

I'm returning to sports photography having previously worked in sport administration and television production early in my career. Those years shaped how I approach the work — with an understanding of what sporting bodies, broadcasters, and event organisers actually need from imagery, not just how to take a picture.

How I work

Sports photography lives or dies by two things: anticipation and turnaround. I shoot with the sport in mind, not just the camera. Knowing where the action will be a half-second before it happens is what separates working coverage from snapshots.

Every event I cover is built around real-time delivery. A curated highlight set is in your hands within a couple of hours, and a full edited gallery within 24, organised and captioned ready for use. I run Canon EOS R1, R3 and R5ii bodies in parallel during events for redundancy and lens flexibility with a calibrated mobile editing setup that lets me deliver to your channels via FTP while play is still happening if needed. The R1's burst rates and autofocus reliability are designed for world-class athletes.

Remote pilot (RPA) qualified, with drone capability used for venue overviews, broadcast-style B-roll, and high performance technical review imagery for coaching and analysis programs.

Every brief is different. Some clients want clean, sponsor-ready imagery. Some want the raw drama of competition. Some want both. The first conversation is always about what you actually need the photographs to do — for your channels, your sponsors, your community, or your athletes — and the deliverables are built backwards from there.
